Week 5 Sampson

Week 5-
During tuesday me sanjay and ben kept on working with our games bible to make sure it was all put together.

Wednesday everything was completed to my liking and so i focused my time on completing this blog and making sure it contained everything it needed to.

Thursday we had to present our games document (Bible) which had all the information about our game.

Week 4 Sampson

Week 4-

On tuesday i thought i would nstart by writing up or leveling system and our magic system, what spells we would have and there evolved states.

Wednesday was a quick day, i spent alot of my time focusing on my blog and the Minutes for our group but i also helped the group come up with how some of the NPC within our games would act and what they would do within the gaming world.

An example of one of the NPC we did would be:

Count Cross [LEADER OF THE VAMPIRES]
Count Cross is a 1000-year-old vampire who lived though the rule of the Shape Shifters and they live in mutual agreement with each other until the shifters started to enslave the vampires, which made the elders and the Count angry with the shifters and joined the fight against them to free their people from enslavement. Years later their home of Bloodstock Castle is in ruins from the war. They now live in isolation to regain strength and regain their numbers.

We all spent thursday doing our game bible and making sure we did not miss anything we also had to do a plan for how we was going to present it and what parts were to be read at what point.

Week 3 Sampson

Week 3-

Tuesday we wanted to do the other playable character research these are the races that we individually chose to be put into the game, i wanted Leviathan and Vampires.

Leviathan- I had got the idea for a Leviathan race from Supernatural the TV show, in the show they are portrayed as humans but could never die and bleed black goo, they also ate people by making there mouths deformed and opening them larger then normal, in there mouths there were also razor sharp teeth. I also knew that Leviathan are mythicle creatures but they were shown as sea creatures and so i wanted to implement that into my creature aswell.
Vampires- for my vampire research i looked at what they were presented as in the medievel times but i also wanted to have them similar to the vampires from Legacy of kain but i did not want to copy them so i decided to have the vampires look crossed with an animal as in LOK the vampires had kind of hooves of a animal, i didnt want just hooves i thought i would have the vampires halve sheep halve human this will give a more demon look to the vampires.
Wednesday we all had diferent tasks once again but this time me, ben and sanjay had to work on the box cover for our game,we all came up with our own designs but once we put them all together we had choosen to merge all our ideas into one for our cover art.

Thursday I wanted to start the design of the creatures, i have researched enough to know what i wanted the characters to look like and so i thought it was time i made them.

I started with the Dwarven race, i had done enough research and decided i would like the dwarves to dress like miners and use pick axes, they were also to be short and have long beards. i also thought that if they were miners they would need to be muscly this would even out the race a bit as there power would help with them being short.

For my Leviathan race i had two drawing one of which was how they looked out in the open, they would be tall slender and would have bandages covering their faces as they did not wish for others to see what they looked like, they also wore komodos to have a japanese theme to the race and to show that they were royalty, i also did a drawing that showed them without their bandages so you can see what they really looked like, they would have scaley skin and would have diferent types of heads e.g. some may have a fin on there head but they would all be diferent.

Vampires would be as i thought before, half goat half vampire look but i wanted them to be more scary and so i wanted them to have no eyes and also they would have there bat wings out at all times. they would have pale skin as they did not spend time in the sun and also there clothing would be old fashoined to give them there old ancient hiarchy look.

Week 2 Sampson

Week 2-

Tuesday we wanted to focus on the naming of our game, i wanted a name like Nigeria or The Order but Ben and Michael wanted Discord as the games name, me and sanjay did not like this as we thought it was not good enough and so Michael came up with the name Era Of The Damned and we all agreed upon this name.
After this i thourght it would be good to research some other creatures that we would want in our game such as Rats and Wolves.

Wednesday me and Sanjay wanted to create the map four our open world game, we looked at maps from Fallout and Fable and then we decided to make our own but me and sanjay thought it would be best if we created a seperate map each and then let ben and michael decide what map they wanted, they had chosen to use sanjays map for our game world.

Thursday we decided to do our race research, i knew that i wanted to do the Dwarves race the Vampires and also the Elemental Races, this was all simple at first all i needed to do was create a look for each race and then have diferent skills and specification for each race.

Dwarfs- Sampson has started to research dwarfs, for this he looked at how some movies and games portrayed dwarfs and also looked at real life dwarfism and Sampson wanted to make the dwarfs in game as realistic as possible so Sampson thought dwarfs in game wouldn’t be able to hold as much as the other classes and so forth.

Elementals- This race was a specific race it isnt included as a clan but as a kind of partner, you could use elementals to help you fight and guide you withing our game and i wanted each elemental to look diferent and i wanted them to be easily recognised as the element they represent, my fire elemental was a fire monster wind was tornado monster and so forth.

Michael Week 5 update

This week I started by making a basic look for our game case to be the front cover for our presentation I used the typographies that we wanted to use so I entered the name of our game into Photoshop then outline the letters separately and used a blood red colour for the main colour and used a dark red and ice blue as a highlight colours, for the last word I only did it in ice blue to make it stand out to give it a misty look I used the smudge tool to mess the words up.
On Wednesday we made sure that the blog was up to date and that we all knew what we were going to say in the presentation the next day
On Thursday we all will present our game idea to Simon, Drew and the group

sanjay week 5

Week 5 is last week before my team have to present it to the rest of the class in it's finished form. Secondly I started drawing my other setting which is the swamp area of the world where the levathin race inhabit. The swamp is teeming with poisonous life and the unknown.
I also wanted it to be hard to see bacuase of all the fumes that would be released from the swamp making it hard to navigate and to also keep the player on their toes from a superise attack by an enemy.
I also made a concept art for the air elemental and I wanted to show that she was made of air but also giving her a human nature. Also by giving her clothes to wear makes her more relateble than just some spireing air.
The last mysterious design I drew was for the last boss and what I wanted to show with this design is that because he is a shape shifter I wanted to show his original form. I also wanted him to look intimidating to the player and that's why I got some inspiration from death itself. The reason I wanted him to be imtimidating and mysterious to the player was because they wouldn't see this enemy ever again and I wanted it to be one of the best moments they would remember when thinking about this game. Lastly the players wouldn't have expected this and it would catch them off gaured making this moment even greater making it a scene to remember.
